I did this upgrade a little while ago. Tiny Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 powered off the rear view mirror Temp/direction display harness. The 12v to micro usb plug really cleans up the wiring for it.

My van doesn’t have propane on it and I’m glad it doesn’t. For cooking I use a single burner butane stove and for heat I use a diesel heater with its own separate tank.
