I completely agree with you that the reason people want SMBs is their capacity to get away from it all, as far as I know unique. A Roadtrek, for example, with its low clearance, is mostly a pavement...

I have looked at some other models, but what always brings me back to an SMB is the four wheel drive/high clearance. I like to get away from it all and won't always be on pavement.
