Looking at a Ram crewcab w/6.7. Rated to pull 15-17,200lbs, easier to get in for Ma Clooney and (ahem) a quieter, more utilitarian daily driver for me.

You may not want to hear this, but the best choice is the factory style, constant tension spring clamps. They can be a pain to deal with, but they don't loosen overtime, you don't have to worry about...

They have pads, but several have worked their way out. Maybe some POR would be the way to go. I'm concerned the rust will weaken the springs leading to a failure.
