I waited many years to do this because of the price of lithium batteries...

I wouldn't go deeper than the bottom of the front headlight without a snorkel. That's where the air intake sits. Game over if you suck water into the engine. :eek:

That's not normal. FICM voltage should always be above 45v. Lot's of possible causes, pretty widely covered if you google search "low ficm voltage".

Looking at the picture it doesn't appear that the zip tie failed. It looks like the battery handle came loose on one end and slipped out. Plus I used two zip ties.

After 6 years the house battery developed a short in one cell. I decided to upgrade to a Lifeline AGM GPL-4DL. My build has a rear storage box so this setup might differ slightly from your build....
