Thank you. Grinding was happening all the way home. But the transmission and the regular rear wheel was working fine. But the sound was stressing me out! I will see if i can push/shift the shaft in....

Embarrassingly, I don’t know what fluid because, (head down in shame) I never changed it or checked it’s level.
