Oh yeah, and SMB did say I had the wires crossed on the separator which was likely the cause of the lights not turning on at rest.

Got it to my mechanic and of course it fired right up and didn't give them any trouble. Aargh! Maybe Zylstra's can lend some insight. Hard to diagnose when it doesn't happen for the mechanic!
