Re: King Fire

Hey, I drove my wife to the starting line of the Tahoe Ironman in my Sportsmobile! She was all suited up at the starting line when the King Fire canceled the whole thing due to air quality.

Re: Family with 3 little kiddos in Sportsmobile?

I have a regular car seat in the middle with two boosters on either side in my regular 3 person crew bench. I did shop for a narrow car seat that was a little more expensive than the Walmart stuff...

Re: Family with 3 little kiddos in Sportsmobile?

TBUNCH
I feel your pain. I travel with 3 kids and up to 7 bikes at times in our Sportsmobile sprinter with penthouse. We all sleep great in it (though we have to put the bikes out at night).

Re: Fridges.. If you had your choice?

I typically travel with three kids. There are plenty of pit stops for (not to mention a little extra need for) getting a "roadie" out of the back!

Re: Fridges.. If you had your choice?

I love my National Luna 50. I got the single temperature version. (Either freezer or fridge). I had initially planned to get the freezer/fridge combo but my wife talked me out of it. After several...

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

The thought of rigid overhead cabinets gives me a headache but camping with a family of 5 in a Sprinter with penthouse is a constant struggle to keep organized.
I came up with this compromise.

Re: Looking for campground recomendations along 395

You could always reserve a group site and make it a "meet up" for the group. "Church Group" is code among several friends to take advantage of group site availability at campgrounds. We've never...

Re: Desperation or Trickery? Either way pathetic

When I picked up my 2WD Sprinter with penthouse from SMB West, it had "Sportsmobile" stickers on it. I did not request the stickers. Seems to me that if it was good enough for the factory, I...

Re: Sprinter high-roof or penthouse

Between Reno and Carson City NV most afternoons in the summer vehicles over 9' get routed off the freeway due to Mark Twain's Washoe Zephyrs.

Re: Sprinter high-roof or penthouse

The less than 9' clearance of the short roof with penthouse comes in handy for most drive-throughs. My local high wind restrictions don't affect vehicles under 9'.

Re: Thule TB60 roof track placement

I can't get an interior photo without taking out the cardboard looking ceiling.

Hope this helps.

Penthouse bed. (sag?)

Thanks for the response. I have never left bedding or anything on the mattress with the top down. The moveable portions do appear to sitting correctly.

Perhaps it's back to Fresno for me.

High Roof VS Penthouse Top

I looked into this one too.

The main reason seems to be that the taller roof is not structurally sound enough for the penthouse

The next reason is that the taller any extra weight gets, the...

Awning for Penthouse Sprinter

I picked my Sprinter with penthouse and Fiamma awning two months ago and have no problems. The brackets are holding up fine even with lots of Death Valley Washboard.

Has anyone had SMB convert a Sprinter Passenger Van?

In the Fords And Chevys you need a hard head. The Sprinter has plenty of room up top!
