I used to use a kuat (2 bike) rack with either an 8" or 12" hitch extender (12" if I wanted to open the back doors with rack tilted, 8" if not). I also used a basic u-bolt stabilizer and also had...

Re: *SOLD*2013 Sportsmobile 6.0L V8 Chevy Express 2500 RB-50

A great thanks to this forum during my time as an SMB owner. It is an invaluable source of information. The new owner did indeed find our Sportsmobile here on the forum so I have just donated the...

*SOLD*2013 Sportsmobile 6.0L V8 Chevy Express 2500 RB-50

We are reluctantly putting our Sportsmobile up for sale. We absolutely love our SMB. We originally bought the SMB for trips that vary between 1 and 3 weeks in length. The good news is the wife likes...

Re: Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

I just realized I never came back and updated this thread with my findings. I finally (maybe a month ago) decided to have a good long look at all the wiring. I pulled the Zamp solar panel so I could...

Re: Hexomat Floor Mats?

I have some of these in my Honda S2000. These are the only rubber mats I could find that were made/factory cut to fit the car. It is a decent mat. The base rubber (the part you would be left with if...

Re: Thinking of changing Food cabinet

When we had our RB50 built we had them not install the slide out and just make it a cabinet with three adjustable/removable shelves and a swing door. My initial though on the slide out was that it...

Re: Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

Thank you both. Your explanations makes sense on why it will be more of a pain to try and eye ball both panels.

I do intend to look into getting it fixed. However I have a three week trip in about...

Re: is danhard AC louder than roof AC

Yes, my danhard is much louder than a rooftop AC. It is the exterior fans that run when the compressor is on that is loud. It isn't a sound that is so loud it is painfull but the sound carries...

Re: Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

I was thinking I should be able to look at both the solar controller panel and monitor panel to get an idea. If the solar panel reads +3 amps and the monitor show -5 amps then I know I have a net -2...

Re: Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

Thank you for that picture. It makes it very clear.

So to have the solar amps measured by the monitor the red solar wire would stay where it is in that picture and the blue solar wire would...

Re: Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

I can see where the shunt and battery monitor are mounted under my RB 50 bench. The problem is all the wiring coming in is not marked and I can't tell which wires come go back to the solar...

Re: Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

The monitor does indeed appear to be measuring amp out correctly and not measuring solar amp in at all. It only appears to be measuring amp in from the 30 amp inlet. I would not be surprised if SMB...

Re: Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

Here are my readings from today. It appears to me that everything is working properly except the % readout on the monitor does not appear to update from solar charging. A little strange because the...

Re: Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

The monitor does have a ton of settings. I did sit down with the manual and go through them when I first got the van. I do remember it had a specific setting for Lifeline AGM and a specific setting...

It looks like this:

As it was described to me it disconnects everything but the CO2 detector. Typically it is turned...

Re: Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

Thanks for the response daveb.

So I have the battery monitor that SMB installed. I'm a bit naive of electrical workings, but I believe it uses a shunt for measurement. It has a panel where I can...

Dumb question, are these solar charger result normal?

I have a solar question about my SMB to ask. I suspect there is some issue with either my solar controller or the wiring SMB did between when wiring my SMB for solar. Or, likely I am doing something...

Re: FIRST POST! Building my own campervan (E-250)

I used to have an Aliner hard sided popup before getting an SMB. Thought I would mention that fantastic fan makes a version with a low profile knob specifically for popups. These were used in the...

Re: Request for suggestions on Austin, TX <-> San Diego, CA

That sounds like a great run. A bit far north for this trip, but I'll have to file that information away for later. I think they need an app for that. A place to keep tip details on all the places...

Re: Request for suggestions on Austin, TX <-> San Diego, CA
