Thank you Philrod. Does this 12 volt jack have a reverse switch as that would solve both problems,opening and closing?

oclv thank you for your reply, you gave me an idea that prehaps lying on my back and pushing with my feet might work also. Maybe someone has some experience with a mechanical solution.
