I like how Chris (Ujoint) did his using a different camper with the Chassis Cab. Also look at these to convert to a truck type cab. the make them in lots of lengths too....

I used the tap type and added it in the sending unit/pump mount (mine is Gas) and while I did have to drop the tank, the tank is not modified just the removable sending unit.
