The Clothier chains are the Cadillac of tire chains, and the prices shows it to. As far as chain type V bar chains wear the best and provide the best lateral grip on slick surfaces. The diamond...

Re: Betty #2
That van looks familiar, but I can't place where I've seen it before.
1993? But it has late model mirrors and grill?

There are several companies that cater to horse trailer conversions/living quarters that have some really good stuff. I'll try and find out who they were.

Re: Roll Bar
First off in a slow speed roll over you will be fine. Designing a cage to prevent cave ins at high speeds would be extremely complicated. First off it would need to be a minimum of four points, even...

Re: Ford Red touchup paint (where)?
Every van (or Ford for that matter) should have the paint code right above the Vin number on the door sticker. Walmart also carries the touchup paint for about half the price of the dealer.

Re: Ladder rain gutter mount
Get you some Thule bars from the junkyard then get creative. Just a little cutting and welding is all it would take.

Re: Limit straps
These work well because it's hard to set it up right (where your getting all the travel you can without blowing shocks), and they are adjustable.

Re: Thule TB60 roof track placement
I think the screws aren't in the center for a reason, that way it staggers the load. Kinda like when you stagger screws in wood that way the wood doesn't split.

I'm actually going to use a 1600 type one motor with 930 CV's. I just want the travel (for now).

Re: 2006 Build
Sounds good. But I probably won't be ready for a while though because my budget only allows for one project at a time and I need to get my sandrail up and running first, and we all know Porsche 930...

Re: Outdoor Shower Mats?
Yeah I never thought about that. They would be much lighter and cheaper then your traditional metal grates/sand ladders.

Re: Outdoor Shower Mats?
One of those rubber mats that are made from recycled tires would work nice. A locale guy makes them and sells them for like 20$. I'll try and find a pic.
