I don't know if you can still do it, but Montana has been a tax haven state for out-of-state RVs for years. With no sales tax, you can buy a big Class A, do so fancy legal work and register it in...

Isn't that the issue that got Governor Gray Davis recalled?

Here in Big Sky country, SMBs are licensed as RVs, which have a ridiculously low rate. I'm paying $170/year for my 2006 SMB plates.
