Each state has it's different (oftentimes painful) tax burdens. Montana has no sales tax, which we make up for in high real estate property taxes and state income taxes.

Our RV tags and trailer...

I don't know how it is done, but a lot of out of state RVs are registered in Montana, since we have no sales tax and a very low cost for RV tags. My Sportsmobile plates run around $200 a year.
