I taped a length of clear hose to mine when I had to do it. Then I could see it coming.

Hope Z doesn't mind if I butt in here with a suggestion. Couldn't you add a "T" connector between the pump and the fuel filter. Add a length of fuel line to the connector then run it to place under,...
