I was also worried about ground clearance. SMB West sells a skid plate that covers from the engine to the transmission. With the weight of the van, I have no idea how it will fare if/when I ever...

It is my understanding that this is a true statement. Another great reason to never go back to the shop that recommended "switching" to synthetic.

I followed John's lead and had the same unit installed. Mine is running hotter than what John has reported. However, I live in AZ and I'm surprised I haven't found the van melted to my driveway...

My van is should arrive tomorrow. I'll see what I can come up with for pics.

I couldn't agree more about the importance. All of the skids on my Jeep have scars...

Yes. I got two from SMB West. One that covers the bottom of the engine (mostly concerned with oil and transmission pans) and one for the fuel tank.

Prior to dropping my van off at SMB West, I took it to Zylstra's and had a Mag-Hytec tranny pan and an Edge Insight Monitor installed.
