So I got a hitch extension (Reese 14" 650 lbs rated but listed not to exceed 65% of that so more like 425 lbs). The extension is solid! It works for my rig and barely lets the bikes gas tank slide...

I really like the custom joehauler rack above and would be my first choice..... however I already have a moto receiver hauler and I just need to make it work for my sportsmobile with spare and basket...

nice to know tork lift is in my own back yard! I will have to check them out. I rarely tow with the SMB however so the idea of spending a ton on a new hitch is not that appealing to me right now. ...

Yes, but my receiver is rated for 6,000 pounds of tongue weight, so even with the extension required to clear the tire and carrier, I don't have to worry about overloaded the receiver. A stock...

Basically looking for a motorcycle rack to clear my spare and soon to be aluminess box on the back (replacing the tray). Can this be done with hitch extenders or does this put too much strain on it?...

LOL my BMW F800GS weighs in at 450 lbs wet. that said not sure I would want that weight hanging off the back of my van.
