Not really today; I did this when we first got the van but I've never shared it before so..

The step on the rail is fine for getting in but awkward getting out, especially for old slow inflexible...

I've got that same mount on my van.
I keep it quiet with a couple of bungee cords spiral wrapped around the handle and base plate.

It's my understanding that plywood layers are placed perpendicular to each other and the bending strength is about the same in any direction.

Made 'em. Nylon webbing and buckles from the hardware store.
The hard part was finding a way to screw them to the wall.

I attached a couple of adjustable straps w/fastex buckles to the empty side wall on the passenger side of the EB50 layout.

I chopped the handle off the transfer case shifter. Had a sleeve with thumbscrew welded on the top end. Now the handle rides in the little box under the drivers seat and only goes on when I need...
