It mounts just behind the axle....the cross members on the cab chassis vans, which this one came out of, are located much closer to the rear axle. The regular 3/4 and1 ton vans have the cross member...

I have a rear mount 55 gallon fuel tank from a 2006 E-350 Diesel van, was going to install in my 1999 E-350 but decided against it. I have the tank, sending unit, mounting brackets, cross member....
