I like it for that reason. It folds flat and goes behind the drivers seat real nice. The other thing is it has two handles on top and are labeled open and close so no pinched fingers.

We are currently using https://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/folding-2-step-stool/65819 it is pretty stable and has a large first step. in the dirt and rocks it can get a little unstable but...
