My former Xantrex Prosine 2500w had a maintenance mode as well. But my guess is that the desulfate algorithms on the BatteryMinders are much more sophisticated and effective than the Xantrex and...

Repeated attaching and disconnecting the battery terminal from the post is not good for the battery terminal. You could install a Harbor Freight battery disconnect on the negative post I guess, but...
