When I was writing that kind of stopped me in my tracks... "they wouldn't really tie the diesel batteries together, just in the crank position would they?" makes sense in a gasser, but in a diesel...

My bad starter batteries were masked by the Separator automatically joining the house batteries whenever the key was in the start position (maybe glow position?) regardless my starters were long...

Awesome that you're rolling! Be sure to document the location of this breaker. I need to crawl under my van and see if there is anything near the start batteries.

If the oil pressure is out the engine won't run, not sure what the exact symptoms are but I know even a faulty sensor will kill it. That sucks, nothing as bad as being totally dead.
