My rear yoke was leaking from the nut loosening, but there was a spray pattern all around the U-joint/yoke- on the van and muffler that was pretty obvious.

Also we're talking a quart in 5K miles,...

I don't think it's possible to have it flow into the transmission, but there is no other place it can go. Are you sure it's not coming out the bottom when driving? There is nothing to catch it, or...
