I think you want things as flat as possible, so as not to angle Eli's brackets out at the van body, which would angle the tops in towards the top.

Can the foot be made bigger? The part that rests against the van? It looks like there is pressure on it (seems to be denting a bit even next to the window) which is possibly going to cause problems...
