Your exactly right Dave, I did take a look and it appears like I can black out the light with no effect on the sensor....................................been to lazy so far........thanks

I put one on my van and it’s ok. The part I find bothersome is when the motion sensor is on a blue light blinks. It’s actually kind of bright.
