Sounding like it'll be easier, in spite of having to buy and run bigger cables, just to upgrade the single alt and tie it to the house bank/inverter/controller using Blue Sea gear.

Good points.. I'm sorry I forgot to "tell all".

My solar system is planned for 600W and my bank will start at 220 A/hrs useable (at 50%) and expandable to 330 Ah.

I have a 99.5 7.3 cargo w a build date of 3/99. I'd like to add a second alternator dedicated solely to my house bank. This is ILO spending money on a 260A single alt and a Blue Sea switching system....
