It is easier to troubleshoot if the problem is manifesting itself at the time, and then check systems to see what is not functioning. Other than that it is a matter of trying to induce the problem...

I actually know the owner of Team Ford, another desert racer. One reason they probably quoted you so much is to get you to take it away. Dealers don't want to waste tech time on problem...
