My buddy just did all the mods to his diesel work van and he is glad he did it all at once with the engine out one time. The bad side is the cost of all the upgrade parts!

Yes, Ford used their full floater rear axle on most 350 Vans up to about 1999. I use the Ford full floater on all my vans. But back to your van, it may not need a complete rear end at this time. The...

Two of the most likely sources of the noise you are describing could be as simple as splines on the driveshaft yoke or it could be a broken sprag gear in the torque converter.
