I also have a 83 Westy, and the bed in it is diff. When it folds out, the "seat" is the same level as it was in bench mode, but it is less comfy as it is more straight backed and parallel seat. ...

Quick update. Shortend the sofa to 34" and cutoff some of the "bench".

Now it is going to work well for my needs.

Here is the first draft of the mockup bed. as you can see, access to my cabniets are limited... the main problem is the lower ones, as well as having had to remove the passenger "bench" that looked...

Clear wood sections? Not sure what mean. Frame is maple and doors are cherry ply, with solid inserts for the hinges.

There will be a kitchen, behind the driver, as well as a swing out cabinet on...

So here is my setup, before I ripped out the right side and started redesigning for the bed. I don't like what I have done as I will be losing cabinets due to my lack of forthought.

sure. I may get some photos tomorrow, but in my rig, I have tall cabinets on the driver side, and a "bench" on the left. I was originally planning on ripping 2"x2" and running them down the galley...
