So it was a secret spot and the group decided never to divuldge the location!....but there was cable TV.

Hunter Mountain Rd. was easily 2wd all the way in either direction. The only time it would be 4wd would be if it was wet. It's really a much prettier drive than I expected. At the summit you are in...

Looks like Tim and Rachel stayed another night with Steve and maybe Ron and Brad up on Hunter Mountain. Is that the sunset or a massive forest fire?

We got home about 2 and I just finished going through my pics and adding up my gas receipts.....1021 miles, 102 gallons of gas, glad I didn't buy it all at Panamint Springs!!!!!.

The only impact would be if a ranger encountered us in the park. If that happens we would be given 48 hrs to vacate our camp according to what I read in the paper this am regarding National Park camp...

Looking forward to this trip. We will take 2 days to get to panamint springs. First night somewhere near Mono Lake, Mammoth???
