Re: Danhard AC quitting

In my explorations of SMB wiring while getting things operational, I notice that SMB loves to use butt connectors, and leaves little, if any, slack in wires.

One example is my Suburban furnace. I...

Re: Danhard AC quitting

I figured out the problem. The microwave did indeed crush and abrade the thermostat wires, but it did more damage than what was near the t-stat end of the wire.

I opened the Danhard controller...

Re: Danhard AC quitting

I tried the A/C again today, and now the problem is worse.

Previously, I could get the unit to start up, but it would quit cooling after a few minutes, but at least the blower inside would run....

Re: Danhard AC quitting

Maybe...didn't Starcool buy or take over the RV stuff from Danhard?

The fan speed control inside, the controller box under the dinette seat, and the instruction sheet have Danhard logos on them,...

Re: Danhard AC quitting

Thanks for posting a photo.

I looked at mine today in light of mounting it vertically. There just isn't room between the frame rail and body and still have adequate airflow through the condenser. ...

Re: Danhard AC quitting

Interesting that yours is mounted vertically. Could you take a couple pics? I wonder if I could do that to mine.

Re: Danhard AC quitting

As for the location, the interior part of the A/C is in a cabinet about 24" behind the driver's seat. I guess that forced the location of the condenser to under the driver's door. Which means I can't...

Re: Danhard AC quitting

Okay, I got the Danhard working. The problem (apparently) was that the fans in the exterior box for the condenser weren't running fast enough.

Also, the condenser was full of rocks and dirt...

Re: Danhard AC quitting

Thanks, that's good to know. I guess I'll bring my multi-meter along next time and see what that actual amperage is at the outlets.

Re: Danhard AC quitting

Thanks for the responses, guys.

I only have 15A in the garage at home, and the storage lot we keep it only has 20A plugs, along with a very touchy/worn out breaker. The campgrounds we have been...

Danhard AC quitting

We bought an 08 SMB in January. Now that it's warm out, we've been trying out the Danhard A/C unit. (The PO said he never used it. I think the direct translation of this means: It's broken.)

When...
