I think you should start a new thread on Sprinter fuel economy because it's such an important subject. And we are getting off topic.

MPG in the range of 17 to 19, if typical, is not much better...

A second alternator bracket is available for stand-alone charging system. Capacity seems limited mostly by alternator weight.

As far as I know Mercedes has never made the super-single Sprinter option available in the US. You can find additional information from sites in Europe and Australia, but for now it remains a moot...
