Sometimes the threads are too deep, so the last thread is a weak point. I've seen several nipples break there.

Wow, I expected to see a nipple between the two fittings, I can't imagine how they expected that to stay connected for long. It reminds me of a ship I once worked on where the shipyard (in Columbia)...
