....sounds like vacuum booster needs to be added to the list of suspects as well.....at this point, it's clearly not the master cyl...

As far as calipers being upside down, just stick your head...

Has either shop bled or investigated/troubleshot the ABS module?? Others above have mentioned that this could be an issue.....seems like it's not the MC.....

Yes DOT 5.1 and DOT 5 (silicone based fluid) are completely Immiscible.

You end up with a big mess......did this accidentally on MTB brakes a few years ago....now I have a quart of brake fluid...

Fill? This sounds like nonsense......all of the pistons are always "filled" with brake fluid.......if they are not, you ain't done bleeding.......

....and the pistons are more or less extended...
