Yes and it's a storage area as well although I've heard sometimes it's blocked off. Not sure if it's an old construction standard from SMB or part of the 50 model. I keep my welcome mat in there.

The CCV box wouldn't work on my van, at least not the paper towell holder...my step was built differently than what he's showing. Nice construction though. Too bad it doesn't swing out; that back...
