An AC ceramic heater can be used but pulls huge amounts of battery power through an inverter. There is a reason why fuel powered units are attractive to campers where shore power isn't available.

I've considered one of the Olympian wave 3 heaters as a backup. The little Blackcat just doesn't put out much.

Espar D-4. Pulls very little amperage, fuel efficient, fairly quiet on high compared to propane units I've heard, ultra quiet on a lower setting and works at high altitude. The only Issues I've had...
