Which was what I was doing after I installed the higher voltage alternator and saw those voltages Viva. Myself I want things automatic, so I forked out the bucks & stuck in a lower voltage XP-270....

Actually I don't quite have what I want but maybe I'm over reacting too. When I ordered the high amp alternator I didn't expect the voltage to be so high. I was worried about the Lifeline batteries...

Converters have come a long way over the years. I just rarely plug into shore power and my inverter is a high end battery charger. I'm sure there are some other smart regulators on the market as well...

I guess if the computer has no bearing on what the alternator puts out it would be possible. Two high amp alternators might pull a bit of a load off the engine but I'd think that would settle down...
