Re: Transmission Temperature

From what I was told is it allows the exhaust gas to exit the system faster. Increased exhaust scavenging is produced helping to lower intake temperatures. Diesel exhaust wrap also reduces radiant...

Re: Transmission Temperature

I rarely move over 30 MPH in low range (2 or 4 wheel drive). I don't know what advanced adaptors suggests but it probably depends on the overall gearing on the drive train. In steep situations I move...

Re: Transmission Temperature

Well, that's something I didn't want to hear. My next big project is to get those above 220 degree temps down while I'm crawling slow in low range on a hot day...bigger cooler I guess. The tow...

Re: Transmission Temperature

So the question would be where is the sensor that the scan gauge uses and would it be more incline to show lower temps that the one in the pan like I'm monitoring?

Re: Transmission Temperature

I've got the same but have had to pull over to let it cool down. It's rare to see over 220 but I have see those temps and always pull over. Now my gauge sensor in mounted in the Mag Hytec pan. Maybe...

Re: Transmission Temperature

BTW Valley Hybrids is a great place to have work done on a host of things, and did a repair to my atlas transfer case. Advanced Adaptors recommended this place and although they specialize in Land...

Re: Transmission Temperature

OK, I'm about to have a local company called Valley Hybrids install a trany cooler. After discussing with Georg, he felt a non electric cooler might be a better choice over a small unit fitted with a...

Re: Transmission Temperature

well that makes me feel better. It's the slow hard climbs that push the limit for heat in most cases. As long as it stays at operating temp I'll be happy.

Re: Transmission Temperature

So far I've never made it to what our shops says is max "230 to 240". I've set my gauge to alarm at 220 and have hit as high as 225 before I pulled over. I'd like to add a extra cooler but would want...

Re: Transmission Temperature

Scatter scoop??? For Christ sake don’t post that in the homemade section. Zilstra’s might be in trouble and I hope Scatter doesn’t sue :b1: In all jests, I have been waiting for this and feel a...

Re: Transmission Temperature

Thanks Rob. I too would like to see the scoop. Greggde had Zilstra's do the air box with good results and I plan to have it done early next year. This engine runs so hot everything to help flow is a...

Re: Transmission Temperature

I would like to see a picture of Zilstra's air dam.

Anybody got one?

I plan to do the air box before summer and if the scoop looks good I'll have them do that as well. But I still want to...

Re: Transmission Temperature

I have used Kevlar header wrap on exhaust pipes close to critical areas but would rather use heat plaiting or pliable aluminum around the lines so air flow can cool the hot fluid in the lines as well...

Re: Transmission Temperature

Does the Scan Gauge use the stock Ford sensor? If so it seems like the dealership should have plugged in and compared the trany temp of the scan gauge to a high dollar tester. The Scan Gauge could be...
