Sorry for the late reply Jeff.
IPR- total engine failure. Cranked but would not start. Tow
EGR- loss of low end power, belching black smoke but OK to drive.

:g3: I still haven't had a problem with heat while pulling my SMB trailer Jeff. Something larger...don't know. The tranny gets a bit warm on steep grades, close to 220 but the engine doesn't...

I think a diesel sounds cool. Doesn't bother me at all but people can hear you coming, that's for sure. Crawling slow with the windows down in my van is not as loud as my chevy (Gas) truck driving at...
