The rack SMB built is basically angle iron and the batteries just sit on it. They are zip tied down to the rail. It bolts between the frame just behind the rear axle. They use a marine style battery...

I've also been looking for something better than how SMB mounted mine. I'd like to be able to access the batteries for easy maintenance and change out. Looks like I'm going to have something custom...
