You might want to call the company that makes the unit and ask what the maximum amperage is when the compressor cycles on. With low voltage, it might be high enough to trip the 15 A breaker if you've...

Adding a 20A relpacement socket would never hurt. Of course the wireing must also be up to par. A 20 A socket has heavier componets and will run a little cooler.
