Re: Pocatello V10-repair report
At the moment, we're letting this one go. It's a great match for what we want, but the timing is inconvenient financially. We *could* do it, but hubs would feel better if we waited another two...

Re: Pocatello V10-repair report
Thanks, 86! (Makes me think of Get Smart. :) )
I'm pretty sure it needed the fluid because they had to take something off / empty it to do the repair - but I know diddly about this stuff so that...

Van report...
Just got off the phone with Dennis at P&R Auto in Pocatello.
The repair had to do with a transmission sensor and a fluid temperature code. Parts include a $30 sensor, 9 quarts of...

Re: the continuing saga of the Pocatello V10
OK, here's where we are.
The dealership sent the van out for a small repair ($140), but the gentleman I spoke to doesn't know exactly what it was, and his son, who does, is at an auction in Vegas...

Re: Pocatello test drive report (p.3) CEL came on
Re: Carfax - got one (AutoCheck, actually). It's clean, good title, no accidents and jives with everything the dealer has said so far. He's got his mechanic on it now, and says he'll keep me posted....

Re: Pocatello test drive report
I have to give a big shout out to MKRyan, who just got up on a cold Saturday morning in Idaho to test drive my potential van. He is a prince among men, and a fine example of everything that makes...

I'm waiting for the final OK from He Who Controls the Finances. :tomato: He says he's working up a spreadsheet...of how many times I have to wear the French Maid outfit! The tulle itches...

Re: Anybody in Pocatello? :D
OK, so whose job was it to warn me about this?
I had to make a run to the grocery store today, so I get on the freeway and I'm cruisin' along thinkin' about the van, and I miss my exit. OK, fine,...

Re: Anybody in Pocatello? :D
Thanks, carringb.
A forum member has offered to take a look for me, so if he says it looks good, we'll most likely be making an offer.
I checked out the longevity issue as much as I could on...

Wow - I was just about to start another post and ask if we had any members thereabouts. I'd be happy to PayPal that member a little something for his time.

The inexperienced driver thing worried because, well, that's me, at least as far as these vehicles are concerned. I've driven a...

Re: Dear Ford people, please convert me. :D
Called the dealer & talked to the owner, a nice man who sounds like he's in his 70s. Vehicle is a lease return out of Nevada, formerly used for worker transport by a construction company, but the...

I got the window sticker from the VIN in the ad, not from the seller, and I plugged it into the window sticker look up below. Only way to confirm past that is to verify the VIN myself if I go look at...

Re: Dear Ford people, please convert me. :D
Thanks, lndshark and dhally!
The van will be getting a poptop and a staged interior build out that's likely to involve homebrew. I doubt we'd do a 4x4 conversion, and it's hard to say how...

I don't have my heart set on this vehicle yet, but Ujoint Chris seems to think the deal is pretty good, so maybe it's good enough to be worth dropping a few bucks here and there on things like a kit...
