Re: Scangauge now monitors engine oil temp for the 6.0psd.

Ok, your water temps are high.

When I first put an aftermarket bumper on my van we had some overheating issues, seems the bumper was blocking airflow to the bottom 1/3 of the radiator. Diesel vans...

Re: Scangauge now monitors engine oil temp for the 6.0psd.

Your temps seem normal to me. 7-8 degree delta between water temp and oil temp.

Remember, it is an oil cooler. In order for it to cool, the oil temp is normally higher than the water temp. The...

Re: Scangauge now monitors engine oil temp for the 6.0psd.

After my van is warmed up, the iol temp is always higher than the water temp. Typical on relatively flat road: ECT - 190, EOT - 198

Re: Scangauge now monitors engine oil temp for the 6.0psd.

My only addon gauge is the ScanGauge. As Dave mentioned, it can monitor many functions and display 4 at the same time. It also functions as a trip computer. Since my van is stock, I don't feel the...

Re: Scangauge now monitors engine oil temp for the 6.0psd.

Where is this information from? How does the ScanGauge measure oil temp? In the block or in the pan?[/quote]

On the Dieselstop site that information was posted as Ford's criteria for replacing...

Re: Scangauge now monitors engine oil temp for the 6.0psd.

Just back from Yosemite with the EOT readings for the trip.

Driving down the road, my EOT is about 7 degrees (6-9 degrees) above the water temp on the ScanGuage. That had me quite worried about...

Re: Scangauge now monitors engine oil temp for the 6.0psd.

The difference between Water temp and Oil temp is the best indication of a plugged oil cooler. More than 14 degrees means it is time to replace the oil cooler. And that is a big deal to prevent much...

Re: Scangauge now monitors engine oil temp for the 6.0psd.

Hey, thanks!

Just last month I emailed Scanguage and they told my NO EOT for the 6.0.

Thanks again for the headsup.
