We have a 2" memory foam cushion on the penthouse bed. It stays on the bed with the top down. The sheets also stay up there, but any blankets, comforters and pillows must come down.

We tried a couple of different memory foams, and they are not all the same. Current one is cut down from a Costco 2" double bed size. BTW, my wife neither likes it nor uses it.
