Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System

The biggest difference (e.g. reduced temps) I notice with the Mag Hytec is when towing uphill. Additionally, I went with Amsoil trans fluid at the same time, and subjectively, I think the trans...

FYI, the Trans temps and EGTs were from my X-monitor, and the Intake air and Max Coolant temp were from my...

Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System

Twolost,

Your oil analysis indicates you are using SAE 30W oil. Is that right? I think most everyone using Amsoil are using the Synthetic Heavy-Duty Diesel & Marine Motor Oil SAE 15W-40. Probably...

Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System

Called Amsoil this morning, and spoke with Brian K(for privacy, I'd rather not post anyone's last name in a forum). I let him know that I had a 2006 Ford E350-based Sportsmobile with a 6.0L diesel...

MY WISHLIST

1) I would love something in writing from Sportsmobile West on the restrictor issue.

2) I would love something in writing from Amsoil on the restrictor issue.

3) I would love 1)...

Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System

Agreed, but given that Jim has been an Amsoil rep for years, and has direct access to the senior-most techs at Amsoil, to the best of my knowledge, he's the most qualified person so far to make a...

Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System

Jeffrey,

Since you changed the filters (are you using a Donaldson?) and removed the restrictor, next time you run the engine for 15 minutes or more, can you check to see if both filters are warm?...

Re: Warning to 6.0 PSD Owners with Amsoil System

OK, but (Amsoil)Jim is telling me to remove it, and says he has discussed, if not confirmed, that issue with the Amsoil tech.

OK we need to get one, clear, consistent position on this issue.

I'm ready to go with this as my new Donaldson filters just showed up today, I have spare bypass filters, I have enough oil on hand...

New question, same topic.

With the less restrictive filter (Donaldson), and with removing the filter head restrictor assembly, can the engine be expected to run noticeably cooler? Aside from...

Re: Amsoil lines crossed fix problem.

Jim,

Thanks again for clarifying things, but I have one more question. Is it Sportsmobile's position that the restrictor should be removed, or just Amsoil's? So far, Sportsmobile has been silent...
