If you have a SurePower, there is a "Start" terminal that takes a small wire, in my van a light green one. You should be able to supply 12v through a fuse and then a switch right from either...

Don't you carry a generator?

When I'm charging the spare battery I usually charge with the inverter and a standalone battery charger while driving. It is also a safer way to jump somebody rather...
