Good question. Every battery does more poorly in cold, but lithiums can be destroyed by charging when cold, as you note. The BMS prevents that. I don't camp in areas where it's sub -32 inside my van...

I don't recall that the 1250 required a setting for the battery capacity, but it certainly does for type. And if your battery bank is as you say, both lithium and AGM, I don't think this would work...

Update: turns out that with the battery disconnected it self-discharged over .15v over just say 30 hours, and that was a couple days after last good charge (so not just a surface charge wearing off)....
