Changing Pop Top Gasket

I bought a new gasket last year and it is now time to replace the old one as the rivet holes have torn in a few places. For those who have taken on this project so you have any advise?

Checked the fuses, put the stock radio back in, replaced the headlight switch, everything working except dash light. 2000 E250 bulb(s)?

Thanks!! I think I must have reduced it last time with some pvc bits it was years ago, the first one was also taken out by road debris. This is probably not in the best spot.
