We purchased this 2000 Chinook Baja 4X4 about a month ago in Portland. So far we have been adventuring and camping on the logging roads around Mount Hood. We followed the SM Forum classifieds for a couple years before we found this truck. Conversion by Quigley with Dana 60 front axle, coil/shock suspension and King Pin steering set up. I have the build sheets thanks to a helpful forum member and am developing a phone relationship with Sabrina Grace the product manager at Quigley. We added a new Fantastic Fan, outdoor shower valve, Bilstein shocks and a new Sky Walker 7000 steering stabilizer. I just drove it to Boulder, Co. and averaged 12 mpg at 70 mph. (Triton V-10) Looking forward to learning more about the rig.
Cheers!

Great Rig! I also believe you managed to get the best body paint scheme they produced - little classier than some of the other "far out" combinations. I like the light colored wood cabinetry also, compliments the rest of the vehicle.

Welcome! Check out the PDX Overlanders on Facebook. We have quite a few full size rigs, although not that many vans. We just had a big get-together at Mt. Hood this last weekend and will be camping together at the Toyo Tires Trailpass event in Hood River on Sept. 7th.

Very nice, thanks for posting. I would also like to see more interior shots and information about onboard systems and amenities.

We just returned from a short Redwoods trip in the Chinook. Drove down from Hood River through Grants Pass, Or. and Crescent City, Ca. to Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Enjoyed the Howland Hill road. This unpaved 7 mile stretch was a highlight. This photo says it all for us. We were given permission to camp for free at the Elk Valley Casino in Crescent City. We called ahead and the manager could not have been nicer. The lot is patrolled by security 24/7.
