2005 Chinook Concourse 4x4 project
$34,000

This is a project truck that i was converting to 4 wheel drive. It is completely driveable in its
current condition as a two wheel drive as i have not installed a transfer case yet. The front suspension
conversion is completed (hard part) using the Timberline conversion kit. It has a front Dana 60
axle from a 2005 F-350 super duty dually pickup under it. It also has rear brakes from the same truck.
Needless to say with all new parts including hubs, bearings, rotors, calipers, this truck will stop on a dime
compared to other chinooks.

102,000 miles on 6.8 litre V-10
4R100 transmission
four wheel disc brakes
cruise control
4:10 gears

Reid Racing steering knuckles
Weldtec 6" progressive rear leaf springs
new front progressive springs (MOOG)
Timberline 6" 4x4 conversion
FOX 2.5 inch remote reservoir shocks front and rear
hellwig front swaybar
roadmaster rear swaybar
12,000 pound winch
offroad bumper
BFG KO2 tires
2021 Dodge ram 3500 dually wheels
13.5" front and rear brake rotors
new calipers front and rear
new brake pads front and rear
new brake lines front and rear
new park brake cables
new backing plates and park brake pads
new rear bearing hubs
new hub bearings and seals
Dutchman custom rear axle shafts 30% stronger than OEM axles
Spyntec free spin kit
new start battery
new radio
new heater blower motor & resistor
all new tie rods
new tracbar
new drag link
steering box
kelderman steering stabilzers
EMF rebuildable ball joints
Renogy 200 watts solar panels and controller
Dometic Penguin 2 air conditioner
New Onan 4000 watt generator
2021 Toyota Sienna front seats
6 way electric seat bases passenger and driver side
2013 front clip

also have original front clip and jack knife sofa and several other parts that go with the truck.

Interior living quarters will need redone to your liking, all cabinets remain inside the truck however i removed the dinette
as well as the refridgerator. My plan was to redo all of the cabinets and install a 12 volt/ 110 volt marine refridgerator and cook top
to eliminate the need for propane.

Note: this truck does not have any lift blocks to create lift, the lift is 100% spring. There is no Moryde setup on this truck.
this truck does not utilize any wheel adapters of any kind. It utilizes 2005 Ford f-350 superduty rear hubs. It does not utilize the junk Ford
unit bearing on the front axle, it has a Spyntec free spin hub kit on it. The 2005 F-350 superduty brake rotors are 13.5" inches in diameter
which gives it more than enough stopping power.

This truck comes with multiple boxes of of various parts, consoles, running boards, bumper cover, fenders, hood, brackets, coil springs, original generator, spare gas tank, air suspension system, and more to numerous to recall. Its fastest to just email me if you are interested as i spend very little time on this forum.

This truck was a project of mine that will need to be completed by the purchaser. You can drive it home, however it needs a complete alignment not just the usual half an alignment done by 90% of the shops in this country. Adjusting toe in/out and adjusting the drag link is NOT a complete alignment.
According to Timberline and other Offroadd shops this truck should have approximately 4 to 5 degrees of caster with camber set as near to zero as possible.

I am no longer physically able to complete this project so my loss is your gain. My body can no longer handle the kind of physical demands required to complete the truck and i am caring for my 84 year old mother who has cancer and two dogs full time. Being realistic at age 63 i simply will never be able to complete this project on my own.

2005 and 4R100 ??
I thought the '05's were first year of 5R110 behind the v10. Is it a late 2004 model year?

Location?

Yes its the 04 model titled as a 2005. Chinook would get the trucks and build the RV, then they were allowed to sell them as the model year they were completed rather than the VIN number.

Truck will go into storage beginning approximately July. Family members cancer has accelerated and she is in rapid decline at this point.

When she passes the truck can not stay on the property as the property will be sold and i will no longer be here to show or sell the vehicle as i will be finishing my travels using my sprinter van. With that said i have lowered the asking price to $32,500, not negotiable

If your old and retired like me and just looking for a truck that you can jump in and go travel the country this is not the truck for you. This is a project that i started that needs completed. It needs a transfercase, driveshafts, transfercase shifter.
Once that part is done the interior needs a complete facelift IMO. This is a project for a younger person that has some stamina and mechanical knowledge.
Not for someone thats retired with no mechanical background and just looking to get in it and start traveling.

With that said...
Please dont waste your time and my time kicking tires on something we both know you will never be able to complete.

@The Renaissance Tinker : Seriously, this would be right in your wheel house and you have the space and certainly the skills set

I had a very good conversation with ScrapIron. Tough situation. I wish I had the shop/space to take this to completion. Well on the way to to shelf.
I have too much on my plate to take on a project that is so far away. Judging by the size it’s a bit heavier than my tow rig can handle crossing the mountains.

I have taken it out on the interstate at 70 mph, i have driven it around town here several times. It isnt a matter of an alignment check. It needs a complete alignment. Nothing on it is factory. It has spintech freespin kit which means it doesnt use the factory unit bearings. It has timberline 4 link arms, the lowers are adjustable. It has reid racing steering knuckles and EMF balljoints, and adjustable draglink, etc... Everything about the alignment needs to be checked and adjusted. Timberline told me to set it at 5 degrees caster with camber set as close to 0 as possible.

It needs a professional alignment not just toe adjustment which is what 99% of the shops around here consider an alignment on a 4x4 truck because they are either to lazy or stupid to change the caster/camber bushings in the knuckles.

With a check of alignment he says it is drivable as is.
Not a gamble I have the time to take right now. It looks like an awesome and well done build but I would never drive an unfinished 4x4 conversion project halfway across the country on its shakedown trip. Not even one I built myself 😂.
I mean even the van I bought off of you broke down on the first long trip we took. It launched a spark plug 30 miles outside of WhiteSands Np. It was totally random (and no one’s fault) but that was a LONG tow to the nearest Ford dealer, an expensive repair, and 10 days of unplanned down time.
The running joke is that the van “launched” a spark plug in WhiteSands and then “crash landed” at the Ford dealer in Roswell.
Since then it’s gone across the country several times without the slightest issue but there’s always some kind of hicup on that first long trip.

All valid points.

ScrapIron - thxs for clarifying re alignment, what you wrote above is what you conveyed in our discussion, my bad on mistakenly saying "check" 🙏

No worry, i just wanted to clarify for others. Mainly because of the shops that dont actually perform a full proper alignment yet charge people for a complete alignment, which unfortunately is most shops around here. As i stated they will just set the toe in/out, center the steering wheel and send the person down the road wondering why their truck still wanders or pulls. But they will insist they just had an alignment so it has to be something else wrong.

There is only one shop around here thats qualified to do an alignment on a truck like this and thats Inland truck parts. They quoted me $350 dollars to align it when i stopped in their shop like a year ago for parts.
That said im sure that price has increased just like everything else has in the last year or so.

Will they actually align it once they see that its a 4x4 front axle with a ton of aftermarket parts and you tell them you dont want it aligned to any sort of factory specs? Very good possibility they will refuse to do it and use liability as their reason. Thats just the reality of modified vehicles in todays world.
