Aluminess box preferences - comments???

Oh I didn't miss it Greg...as a matter of fact I probably left some finger prints on it. After looking over both shoulders I tried the handle to see if it was unlocked so I could get a gander at the inside...but it was locked. Actually I was at SMB on the 12th and I heard the secretary (I think her name is Susan) tell Paul that Mr. Mckay was there to check something out. I was going to poke my head around the corner to say hey but Paul was giving me the low down on something. I suppose if I ever need extra passenger space I'll inquire about a box like yours. lol

OK,... a few weeks ago I checked to make sure the Honda 2000 fit in the bottom of the Aluminess box.... it did nicely.

On Thursday I checked to see if the Jerry Cans would also fit in the top section. ooppss.... .NOPE.

The new door seal design has decreased the size of the opening and I can thus not get the cans in vertically. OUCH.

SMB TX thinks they can lower the shelf a little and notch the front edge to allow the Honda 2K to be placed into the tigher space. I think this would probably work, but then there are extra holes needed in the sides and the existing holes need to be filled.

So it looks like to design elements, both good as individual elements did not get tested together.

I like the new seal design,... but the cans need to fit.

I will call Aluminess on Monday.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

Also take into consideration the OPENING dimensions.

PM me with your contact info, I might have a solution for you in a oversized box made by Mikey at XtremeFab

If Ray's suggestion doesn't work out for you take a look at the Owl boxes. They outfoxed Aluminess in a few ways on their boxes and a Honda generator does fit in the 24x36 box but you have to maneuver it just right to get it in there because of the large flange on the Owl box.
